Qayro

Itemised receipt splitting

Split the receipt by what each person actually had

An equal split is quick, but it is not always fair. Qayro is receipt-first: the organiser reviews the items, then allocates individual quantities and genuinely shared costs.

The organiser stays in control of the draft

Optional receipt assistance can turn a photo into a draft, but extraction is not treated as unquestionable truth. The organiser reviews merchant details, line items, quantities, adjustments, and totals before sharing anything with the group. Manual entry remains available when a photo is unclear or receipt assistance is not appropriate.

Qayro stores the reviewed structured receipt record needed for the bill or trip. In the native iOS app, Apple Vision reads the image on-device and only OCR-derived text, confidence, and layout evidence is sent for optional analysis. In the accountless guest web flow, the image is resized and stripped of metadata before it is processed transiently. In neither flow is the source image retained in the Qayro database or trip ledger.

Item-level allocation supports uneven orders

  • Assign a whole item to one person.
  • Represent quantities when the receipt includes multiples.
  • Share a common item or adjustment across the relevant people.
  • Let recipients review their allocation through a private link.
  • Record confirmation and external settlement separately.

Not a long-term receipt archive

Qayro is a shared-expense organiser, not an expense-accounting archive or tax receipt vault. Its purpose is to help a real group understand and confirm a split while minimising the receipt-image data the service keeps.

Receipt assistance may use OpenAI or Google Gemini to prepare a draft, as described in the Qayro Privacy Notice. The organiser reviews that draft before it becomes part of the shared-expense record.
