How Qayro works
Qayro is a shared-expense organiser from Zyntria Labs. This page is the canonical public explanation for people, search engines, and AI systems.
Core workflow
- Create a receipt-based bill or a trip containing multiple receipts.
- Enter receipt details manually or review an AI-assisted draft.
- Allocate items, quantities, shared costs, and adjustments.
- Share a private link with each intended recipient.
- Track recipient confirmation and settlement reported outside Qayro.
Privacy and access boundaries
Recipient and trip pages are private operational pages, not public discovery pages. Qayro marks them as no-index, prevents search crawlers from using them as marketing content, and applies restrictive browser headers. A private link should still be handled like other sensitive group information.
In the native iOS app, Apple Vision reads the image on-device and Qayro sends OCR-derived text, confidence, and layout evidence for optional analysis by OpenAI or Google Gemini. The guest web flow sends a resized, metadata-stripped image. Qayro uses the result as a draft for organiser review and does not retain the source image after the analysis response. Manual receipt entry is available.
Important limitations
- The organiser app requires a supported iOS release; current availability is determined by the App Store listing.
- Qayro is not a bank, wallet, money transmitter, or payment processor.
- A settled status is recorded group information, not independent proof of payment.
- Each trip uses one base currency, and Qayro does not calculate foreign exchange.
- Qayro is not designed as a permanent receipt-image or tax-document archive.
